We love the Lowcountry and all of the beautiful locations that make this area of South Carolina so great.

We’ve helped people move all across the Lowcountry for more than a decade — from Summerville to Mount Pleasant, West Ashley To Mount Pleasant, North Charleston to Johns Island.

One popular area that may not be as well known to those outside of the Lowcountry is James Island.

Nestled right in the heart of the Lowcountry, it’s a place that many here call home and might just be a great place for your move in 2024.

More About James Island

Connected by the appropriately named James Island connector, James Island is just a short drive across the Ashley River from Downtown Charleston.

If you’ve ever visited Folly Beach, you’ve most likely been to James Island — perhaps without knowing.

Folly Road runs entirely through James Island and serves as the gateway to our famous beach getaway of Folly Beach.

There’s a long & rich history associated with this corner of the Lowcountry ( which you can learn more about on their official website ), as its origins date back to America’s colonial period, starting with its earliest settlers arriving in the late 1600’s.

Along with that rich history comes some great historical sites you can visit (more about that below).

Things To Do On James Island

Not to be outdone by its surrounding neighbors in the Lowcountry, James Island is host to many great events, bars, restaurants and other places of interest you can visit throughout the year.

The James Island County Park is a great place to visit and features several amenities like Saltwater fishing, picnic areas, a dog park, a climbing wall as well as an 18 hole disc golf course.

The Town Market On James Island (https://charlestonguru.com/event/first-friday-town-market-on-james-island/) is a series that runs from March through December and features a variety of vendors, music, food trucks and other activities every first Friday of those months.

As far as historic sites, there’s Fort Johnson (aptly located at the end of Fort Johnson Rd), McLeod Plantation, Avenue of Oaks and Pinckney Park, just to name a few.
